 Dezarae S. Angulo

 Clinical Trauma Therapist & Clinical Supervisor 

Dezarae Angulo is a dedicated Clinical Trauma Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and five years of experience in the mental health field, including two years specializing in trauma-focused therapy. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents, particularly teen girls, and is committed to empowering her clients with the skills and confidence needed to navigate challenges and build fulfilling lives. Dezarae strongly believes in the resilience of her clients and their capacity to heal from trauma through individual, family, couples, and group therapy.

 As a Clinical Supervisor, she finds great fulfillment in mentoring her team, fostering professional growth, and supporting them in achieving their clinical goals. She emphasizes the importance of tailoring services to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring care is delivered with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based practices.

Her long-term goal is to establish her own private practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a specialized focus on supporting youth and young adults.

Brandy Rice

Therapist

Brandy Rice is a dedicated therapist and fierce advocate for healing and growth. Her personal journey as a trauma survivor inspired a career in behavioral health and social work. Brandy’s lived experience drives her deep empathy and unwavering commitment to survivor recovery. She began her academic path with an associate degree in Psychology and Sociology, then earned a bachelor’s in Family Studies and Human Development, graduating at the top of her class. Her pursuit of knowledge reflects a passion for understanding human behavior and creating lasting change. Brandy joined The Healing Journey in 2023 as an intern, completing two internships while also serving as a motivational speaker. Her story continues to inspire others to embrace healing. Now a full-time therapist, she holds certifications in trauma support and brings a compassionate, assertive approach to her work. Brandy tailors therapy to each individual, blending evidence-based methods with warmth and clear guidance. She is especially passionate about helping clients overcome adversity, grow, and exceed their own expectations. Grounded in a belief in human resilience, Brandy is committed to lifelong learning and the transformative power of therapy.

Jenny Khang

Therapist

​Jenny Khang holds a bachelor’s degree and is currently pursuing her master’s in social work. As a dedicated clinical trauma therapist, she is passionate about empowering individuals to overcome challenges and reach their fullest potential. Jenny firmly believes in each person’s resilience and is committed to walking alongside them in their healing journey. Her long-term goal is to establish her own practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, where she can continue making a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

Receptionist

Rocio is a professional and caring receptionist at The Healing Journey, bringing over 25 years of customer service expertise to every client interaction. With extensive experience delivering high-quality support across phone, email, live chat, and in-person channels, she ensures each visitor feels welcomed, heard, and valued. Skilled in conflict resolution, active listening, and process improvement, Rocio transforms challenges into opportunities to build trust and loyalty, reflecting The Healing Journey’s commitment to compassionate care.

Paola Romero

Skills Training Program Coordinator & Trauma Support Specialist

Paola Romero is the Skills Training Program Coordinator and Trauma Support Specialist at The Healing Journey. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Arizona, with a minor in Psychology. As a first-generation professional, Paola has built her career through dedication, perseverance, and a strong commitment to serving her community. While completing her degree, she balanced her studies with working as a waitress, serving as a part-time university student worker, completing an internship at The Healing Journey, and gaining experience in ABA therapy through an internship at Building Steps Behavioral Health. She also participated in several volunteer opportunities focused on giving back to her community. Through these experiences, Paola discovered her passion for supporting children, families, and individuals. Witnessing the positive impact of her work inspired her to pursue a career centered on helping others recognize their strengths, develop meaningful skills, and overcome challenges. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in the future as she continues to grow professionally and expand her impact in the community.
